Abdel Fattah El-Sisi was sworn in for a third presidential term in the parliament of Egypt, the most populous country in the Arab world. This term will keep him in power until 2030.
According to international news agencies, Egypt is facing regional tensions and economic difficulties. Al-Sisi won the December 2023 presidential election with 89.6% of the vote, against three other candidates and with opposition leaders in jail.
